Welcome Address

Welcome to Seminar for Interventional Radiology in Asia-Pacific (SIRAP 2024)

Dear colleagues and friends,

It is an honor and a great pleasure for us to welcome you to the Seminar for Interventional Radiology in Asia-Pacific 2024 (SIRAP 2024), which will be held on 11(Fri)-13(Sun) October 2024 in Tokyo. The Japanese Society of Interventional Radiology will host this seminar for young interventional radiologists (IRs) in the Asia-Pacific region.

The primary educational goal of SIRAP is to actively contribute to the development of interventional radiology in the Asia-Pacific region through formal lectures and hands-on seminars.

SIRAP was launched in 2016. Young IRs have learned a lot and enjoyed Japanese culture in the past four SIRAPs. Unfortunately, due to the COVID pandemic, only the SIRAP web was held from 2020 to 2021, but we have restarted the SIRAP onsite from last year.

SIRAP 2024 will be more sophisticated and better than ever. Lectures on the first and third days will cover basic and advanced interventional radiology techniques, including portal vein intervention, neuro intervention, emergency IR and ablation, lymphatic IR, angioplasty, vascular malformations, and aneurysms.

On the second day, young IRs can experience a hands-on seminar using animal models and simulators. SIRAP’s teaching activities are designed to cover all relevant aspects of each topic, from basic considerations to advanced techniques.

We believe in the potential of young IRs, and we are sure that after SIRAP we will be able to build significant links across the Asia-Pacific region.

We look forward to welcoming you in October, when Tokyo will be adorned with autumn colors.
