Welcome Address for SIRAP 2026
Dear colleagues and friends,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our distinct honor and sincere pleasure to welcome you to the Seminar for Interventional Radiology in Asia-Pacific 2026 (SIRAP 2026), to be held from Friday, October 9 to Sunday, October 11, 2026, in Tokyo, Japan.
This seminar, proudly organized by the Japanese Society of Interventional Radiology (JSIR), is specially dedicated to nurturing the next generation of interventional radiologists (IRs) from across the Asia-Pacific region. Since its inauguration in 2016, SIRAP has provided young IRs with invaluable opportunities for education, collaboration, and cultural exchange in Japan. The core mission of SIRAP remains unchanged: to foster the advancement of interventional radiology through an integrated program of lectures and practical training.
SIRAP 2026 will be more dynamic and impactful than ever. The program will feature lectures on both fundamental principles and state-of-the-art practices, with topics including Vascular Embolization, Emergency IR, Lymphatic IR, Vascular Malformations, and Aneurysm Management.
As a new and exciting initiative this year, we are introducing interactive case discussions. Participants will engage in small group discussions to analyze clinical cases and then deliver group presentations on their proposed treatment strategies. This collaborative approach is designed to foster critical thinking and professional dialogue among peers. Furthermore, on the second day, participants will engage in immersive hands-on sessions using animal models and simulators, designed to guide them from basic concepts to advanced techniques.
We firmly believe in the potential of young IRs and are confident that SIRAP 2026 will not only sharpen clinical expertise but also strengthen enduring friendships and professional networks across the Asia-Pacific region.
